It is a good idea to study the type of fishing that you will be doing, because there are different types of rods for the various types of fishing. For example, you would use a different type of rod for fishing in a small pond compared to deep-sea fishing. If you are catching smaller fish, then you don’t need to worry about getting a big rod. But, if you decide to go for the big fish it’s always a good idea to get a big, sturdy rod that can bear the weight when you catch a fish.
